Architecting the Interface: A Journey from Design to Senior Engineering

My path into software didn't start in a computer science lab; it began with a singular focus: I care about crafting interfaces with intention — and about the people who use them. I studied graphic interface design at Faculdade Brasília. Following my graduation, I spent nearly a decade immersing myself in the creative industry as a Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Motion Designer, and Video Editor. Working with organizations like Embrapa, Telaviva, and DRPM Publicidade, I crafted everything from animated ads to landing pages. In 2015, I even co-founded ALTITUDE Filmes, an institutional video production company where I served as a video editor and marketing director. This multidisciplinary creative era laid a crucial, empathetic foundation for my transition into the tech world.

Leveraging my design background, I officially broke into software engineering by building interfaces for foreign-trade platforms at Comexpert Neutral Solutions. From there, I cut my teeth at MSWI, a Curitiba software house, navigating the fast-paced AngularJS and jQuery era of the web. I later took ownership of the frontend for NOVOVAREJO.COM, an e-commerce platform nestled inside Grupo Barigui — the largest car dealership group in southern Brazil.

Between 2016 and 2020, my career was defined by a dual passion for shipping polished UI/UX work for Curitiba retailers and giving back to the community.

• I proudly co-founded the WAAS Social Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching young people how technology and digital skills could open doors and transform their lives.
• Simultaneously, I volunteered as a civic hacker with Code for Curitiba, building open-source tech and civic interfaces for the public good.

In 2020, recognizing the shifting landscape of web architecture, I proactively put myself through Rocketseat's intensive GoStack bootcamp. This experience completely rebuilt my technical foundation around React and TypeScript, embedding the core engineering practices I still lean on today: Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and SOLID principles.

That modernized stack propelled me through high-impact roles at Kupay, a one-click checkout startup, and SoCarrão.com, a specialized vehicle marketplace. In 2022, my journey took me across the Atlantic to Dublin.

I've spent the years since serving as a Senior Software Engineer and UI/UX Designer at RentalMatics. Here, I lead the architecture and engineering of the web and mobile frontend for a SaaS telematics platform focused on fleet management. It's a role that requires translating complex, high-volume telemetry and operational datasets into clean, user-friendly data visualizations. It's the kind of product that demands excellence — it has to be fast, clear, and relentlessly dependable every single day, because someone's entire business runs on it.

Ultimately, my work is driven by my core motto: keep moving forward. This space is an extension of that philosophy. This is where I write, build in the open, and share what I'm learning along the way.
